Since I started my job in February and have been taking the bus and doing a lot of walking around the urban core, I have found myself listening to a lot more music, and especially Cincinnati-based artists. Thanks to recommendations from friends and coworkers, these local bands have been in near-constant rotation for months now:
Buffalo Wabs & the Price Hill Hustle pricehillhustle.com
See them next: Friday, November 4, at Arnold’s Bar & Grill
Listen to: “The Very Best” and “Walkin’ Down the Line” here.
Honey & Houston honeyandhouston.com
See them next: Friday, November 4, at Ludlow Garage (supporting Lisa Loeb)
Listen to: “Giving Up” and “Buckets of Love” here.
Krystal Peterson & the Queen City Band krystalpeterson.com
See them next: TBD
Listen to: “I Ain’t Cryin'” and “Clay Pigeons” here.
See them next: TBD (follow them on Facebook or Twitter for more)
Listen to: “Desario” and “Rainy Days” here.
Disclaimer: this list only includes artists I’ve heard and is, in no way, a reflection of the only good musicians in a city full of them. I am always looking to listen to and see more local artists, so if you have any recommendations, I’m all ears!
