Review: Press on Monmouth

This fresh and clean, yet warm Newport café features walk-up counter service and a menu chock-full of some of your breakfast and lunch favorites: waffles, pastries, pressed paninis, salads and soups, plus coffee, tea, and beer. And loaded tots and flatbreads! Press even offers a combination mimosa and Bloody Mary bar. (Yes, yes, and more yes.)

Mimosa and Bloody Mary bar

My first tryst was a quick one — just to check the place out — and I got Warm Pretzels with gouda pimento cheese (I’ll eat just about anything with pimento cheese). They were very good. Additional visits have included a Sausage Biscuit with sriracha honey, which was so good, but a bit messy; Goetta Slider (egg, 86 tomato, chipotle sauce, Hawaiian roll) — also tasty; a delicious Plain Jane waffle; and, more recently, egg and cheese on a biscuit with sriracha honey on the side. I love a place with varied, reasonable and healthy options.
In the few times I’ve now been to Press, I’ve really enjoyed my experience. Good food with great service — everyone who works there is always so friendly and helpful — and for a reasonable cost? I’m all over that and you should be, too.
