I take the bus to and from work every day, but I’ve decided that isn’t quite enough. Thus, This [Past] Week in Awesome meant a lot of utilizing public transit, which I have been trying my best to use instead of driving or taking Uber (where possible, anyway). Some trips included taking the Cincinnati Bell Connector* to Rhinegeist Brewery for happy hour with a couple of friends, from where I took the streetcar* back to my bus stop, then met BK for dinner at Gomez Salsa in Walnut Hills; riding the Southbank Shuttle over the river to Braxton Brewery for the Graeter’s Black Raspberry Chip Stout release, then dinner at Riverside Korean Restaurant with friends, and beer at The Hannaford, The Woodburn, and The Growler House.
Saturday included a trip north to Donna’s Gourmet Cookies for Warm Cookie Day, “Firken Fest” at Christian Moerlein tap room, and a streetcar ride to the Central Business Distrct to have BRU Burger Bar for dinner.

Super Firken Saturday (informally “Firken Fest”) at Christian Moerlein Brewing Co.

But that wasn’t all. This week I also ate a bagel from Servatii, had lunch with BK at Frisch’s, and enjoyed wings from Renegade Street Eats at Listermann before the Xavier vs. Seton Hall game.
I was recently thinking about how much time I spend at breweries. There are five in this week’s recap and maybe I’ll take a break from drinking so much beer soon …

*An ongoing tension with the streetcar was not knowing when it would arrive to a given stop. Download Transit, a live-time app to view departure times and to help better manage your time. For Cincinnati Bell Connector (and Metro) tickets, I recommend downloading the Cincy EZRide app.
