A couple of months ago I made these templates on Instagram and realized that there are a number of things to do and places I’ve yet to see.
Every year we Cincinnatians partake in many traditions—from Opening Day to Festival of Lights, and the WEBN fireworks, the People of Porkopolis are known for being traditional folks. Especially when it comes to annual festivals.
In 2018 I set out to do a handful of things, but then I got pregnant and slept half of the year away. Suffice it to say, I didn’t cross much off of that to-do list. So here I am hoping to pick up where I left off, with some new additions to the list. These are some things I set out to do, see, and achieve this year—my 2020 Cincinnati Bucket List, if you will:
Visit all local breweries with #maraincincy
BK and I have been to every local brewery within a 30-ish mile radius of the city center (62 of them, including several that have since closed), and I’d love to complete the list again with Mara. She is currently at 30 out of 57.
Have brunch at Orchids at Palm Court
I’m not usually one for fancy feasts, but I’ve been told time and time again I need to give Cincinnati’s famed brunch a try. I’ve been sure to ask if there are enough “garbage carbs” (see: pancakes, pastries, potatoes, etc.) for me, and it’s my understanding there are plenty of those. I’m in.
Attend the Butterfly Show at Krohn Conservatory
Every year I say I’m going to go, and every year passes by without having gone. Dangit, I’m making it to this spring’s edition of the butterfly show at Cincinnati Parks’ Krohn Conservatory, an Art Deco-era greenhouse located in Eden Park.
Have some kid-friendly fun
Thanks to the holidays and generous family members, we will be able to go to the zoo, museum center, American Sign Museum, and Kings Island at will in ’20. In addition to all of that wonderful, I’d like to check out EnterTRAINment Junction, Totter’s Otterville, and a production at Madcap Puppets. A more in-depth post about kid-friendly activities is forthcoming.

From coloring cards, tote bags, and t-shirts, to Chili Pop Art, neighborhood maps, and more, I have big plans to finally start producing and selling Cincinnati goods that have been in the works for years. Keep your eye out!
