Every month Tour de Cincinnati creates a shortlist of notable events around Greater Cincinnati—large festivals, food weeks, entertainment, and ongoing series—to make sure you mark down these dates to keep in mind as you make plans in the coming weeks.

Here are several important dates for local events in April to get in your calendars now:

April 1–30

Zoo Blooms
Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden
As one of only two accredited botanical gardens in Ohio, the Cincinnati Zoo offers one of the largest tulip displays in the Midwest.

Tunes and Blooms, a collection of musicians playing together in the Zoo’s beautiful gardens for free (admission is free after 5p), will be on Thursday April 4, 11, 18, and 25.

April 8

Great North American Eclipse
A total solar eclipse is coming to North America and Cincinnati is right near the path of totality. While most of our area will see the partial solar eclipse, the path of totality will include places in Butler County, such as downtown Hamilton. Some area events include:

April 13

UpSpring Benefit Bash
Great American Ball Park

April 15–21

Greater Cincinnati Restaurant Week
Offering a unique celebration of culinary tourism in the Greater Cincinnati area, featuring 3-course $26, $36, and $46 dining experiences at 50 area restaurants.

April 20

Opening Day
Kings Island, 10a
Just the beginning of a season full of fun, thrills, and making life-long memories at one of America’s favorite amusement parks. Camp Snoopy will be joining the 364-acre theme park in late Spring.

The Cincinnati Club

Disney’s Finding Nemo Jr.
Taft Theatre
The Children’s Theatre’s production of the “fin-tastic” musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 Pixar movie Finding Nemo, with new music by award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
