Every month Tour de Cincinnati creates a shortlist of notable events around Greater Cincinnati—large festivals, food weeks, entertainment, and ongoing series—to make sure you mark down these dates to keep in mind as you make plans in the coming weeks.

Happy New Year! If you’re resolving to do all the Cincinnati things, here are several important dates for local events in January to get in your calendars now:

January 5–6

Grand Reopening
ArtsConnect (Springfield Twp)
ArtsConnect underwent a transformative renovation following an unexpected flood in December 2022. Their weekend-long celebration will include an array of activities for all ages and interests.

Winter Hike Series
Great Parks
Hit the trails for challenging hikes, ranging in distance from 4–5.5 miles, held at a different park each week to guarantee a new experience. Hikes begin at 10a and conclude with a hot, hearty bowl of soup and camaraderie.

Golden Days of Yule
Krohn Conservatory (Tuesday–Sunday 10a–8p)
Colorful poinsettias, charming garden railways, and beautiful replicas of Cincinnati landmarks created out of “Botanical Architecture” by local artisans, where holiday traditions take place in the warmth of the tropics.
$10 for adults, $7 for youths (5–17), and children (4 and under) free

Holly Jolly Days
Behringer-Crawford Museum
Includes the 32nd Annual Holiday Toy Trains, Window Through Time, and Winter Wonderland exhibits.
10a–5p Tuesday–Saturday; 1–5p Sunday; closed Mondays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day
Admission included with museum admission (free for members, $9 for adults, $8 for seniors 60+ and $5 for children ages 3–12)

PNC Festival of Lights
Cincinnati Zoo
Open Sunday–Thursday until 9p; Friday and Saturday until 10p
Come early for the animals; stay for the lights as the zoo is transformed into a “Wild Wonderland” for the 41st annual Festival of Lights, featuring 4 million LED lights, five Fiona Fairies in Fairyland, blacklight puppet show, the spectacular Wild Lights show on Swan Lake, and snacks at one of two S’mores-n-More stands.

Christmas lights and holiday decorations spread across the bridge, with events happening throughout the installation.

Holiday Junction Featuring the Duke Energy Holiday Trains at Union Terminal

The beloved Duke Energy Holiday Trains are back for their 77th season.

Fire & Ice Weekends
Moerlein Lager House
Fire performers turn the beer garden into a fiery fiesta while you chill out at the Ice Bar, complete with a drink luge, ice displays, and cozy fire pits to keep warm.
Every Friday (5:30–10p), Saturday (3–10p), and Sunday (11a–7p) through February 18.

January 14

Chili Fest
Findlay Market, 10a–4p
Eat your way through the Market as merchants will be serving up spicy samples.

January 15

King Legacy Celebration
National Underground Railroad Freedom Center
A morning of music, reflection, and a call to action in celebration of the life and enduring legacy of Rev. Dr. MLK, Jr. The celebration will be live and in-person and will include a continental breakfast. A livestream option is also available.

Cincinnati Boat, Sport, and Travel Show
Duke Energy Convention Center
From travel destinations to boating, fishing and hunting under one roof.
