I don’t get outside the 275 loop all that often, and I certainly don’t purposefully exclude the greater Cincinnati communities in my posts. I love trying new places; even when it means getting outside of city’s core to do so.
With multiple loved ones — think brother and his family, aunt and uncle, cousins and their families, plus my two best girlfriends from high school and their spouses — now living in the Kings School District, I find myself in the greater Landen area every couple or few months. I have driven by Bucks Tavern on many occasions and have always wanted to try it. It wasn’t until one of my best friends from high school mentioned how great the ranch was that I knew I had to have it.
This restaurant is located on US-22 and can be easily missed. I understand the parking lot fills up quickly, too, but don’t let that deter you from checking this place out. Bucks is complete with daily specials, bar and table seating, and plenty of TVs.

bucks1Bucks Burger and fries with ranch

We went for lunch on a Sunday; sat at the bar and ordered a Buffalo Chicken Wrap with fries for him, and a Bucks Burger cooked medium with pepperjack cheese and fries with ranch on the side for me (obviously). I can’t tell you how impressed I was with Bucks. The food was great — really an awesome burger, cooked medium with a perfectly toasted bun, and delicious crinkle fries to hold the fantastic ranch in all its dips and valleys. I also want to point out our great service, which was timely, and super friendly.
If you find yourself in the Loveland/Landen area, give Bucks Tavern a try. It’s above average bar food — apps, soups and salads, sandwiches, wraps, desserts, and an okay enough beer selection — that won’t leave you disappointed. Keep in mind that, from 3–7pm on weekdays, all appetizers are half off and they have house-made honey mustard that I hear is outstanding. I didn’t learn about it until I paid my check and now I have even more reason to return.
