Highlights from This [Past] Week in Awesome include lunches at Servatii Cafe (seriously get anything served with bavarian sauce, a combination of mayonnaise/bavarian mustard), Hathaway’s Diner, Saigon Subs and Rolls*, Renegade Street Eats (try the wings with honey sriracha sauce), and Red Sesame at Jungle Jim’s; Trivia Night at The Growler House; beers from Listermann, MadTree 2.0, Rhinehaus, and Americano Burger Bar (awesome happy hour deals); tea with a friend at Coffee Emporium; and dinner at Bamboo Kitchen, BRU Burger Bar, and Gomez Salsa Walnut Hills; plus a quick jaunt to Koch’s Sporting Goods.

I’m not going to review MadTree 2.0, seeing as about half of Cincinnati was at its grand opening celebration on Saturday and what I have to say probably won’t be much different. But I will say this (and share a few pictures): we decided to avoid the crowd and went on Thursday instead. The place was awesome — beautiful, spacious (50,000 square feet!), more beers on tap (I tried Hinges, a solid, new-to-me saison), a huge Catch-A-Fire Pizza counter, plus garage door windows and a sizable beer garden that will be great when it gets warm — but, as with MadTree 1.0, it was packed and parking was slim (though there is a much larger lot that is worth noting). MadTree 2.0 is a welcome addition to Oakley, and I’m thrilled for the company (and our city) for its great beer scene. The only negative change is that 2.0 is dog-friendly on the patio only.
