I love a good breakfast sandwich. Below are some of my favorites that I’ve had in the area:
Eckerlin Meats goetta, egg, and cheese sandwich
This simple pleasure is served at the butcher’s counter on a bun for $3.50 and it’s one of the best things around — breakfast sandwich or not.
Location: Findlay Market

Maplewood Kitchen & Bar Breakfast Sandwich
Egg, Eckerlin goetta (of course), Vermont white cheddar, roasted garlic aioli, and tomato jalapeño jam on 16 Bricks ciabatta roll. This sandwich is complex and so, so good. One of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had. (I get it without greens and with jam on the side.)
Location: CBD

Cheapside Cafe Breakfast Sandwich
Fried egg, bacon, and pimento cheese on multi-grain bread. Pimento cheese. Need I say more?
Location: CBD

Gomez Salsa Brunch Turtle (yes, a turtle is a sandwich)
Your choice of brunch turtle (I got the Spicy Chorizo) stuffed inside of a tortilla and waffle tostada, served with a side of their signature hot syrup.
Location: Over-the-Rhine

Sunny Side Brunch breakfast sandwich
Egg, cheese, and choice of meat on sourdough (made with Eckerlin Meats, of course).
Location: Food truck
Honorable Mention: Cafe de Sales breakfast croissant; MOTR breakfast special bagel; Sunny Deli breakfast croissant
What are some of your favorites?!

  1. They do, but their hours are very irregular and can be hard to find. According to Twitter, they open at 11am on Saturdays and are open from 10am to 2pm on Sundays.
Now that Premier League is back and Rhinehaus hosts a lot of soccer fans on weekend mornings, I think that’s why they’re open more regularly. These are not their typical brunch hours year round.

  3. Update! I heard back from Gomez on Twitter and they are no longer serving brunch since it’s seasonal (though I swear people had it at Rhinehaus last weekend). I went off of the hours they have in their Twitter profile, so I was mistaken. My apologies!

    • I’ve had to plan ahead and get Gomez a day ahead of time since they’re now closed on Sundays. 😛
